Ricky Williams to Retire?

Ricky Williams has reportedly told the Ravens he plans to retire. He was under contract for 2012 and had previously indicated he planned to play next season, but apparently changed his mind. This is not, of course, Ricky's first retirement, as he first walked away from the game after back-to-back seasons with at least 380 carries in 2002 and 2003 before returning. We'll see if this one sticks. Here's what he had to say on Twitter after the news broke:

Hall of Fame Class of 2012 Announced

Here is your Class of 2012: Jack Butler, Dermontti Dawson, Chris Doleman, Cortez Kennedy, Curtis Martin and Willie Roaf.

I'm very excited about Dawson and Roaf. The Hall needs more offensive linemen. I voted for Roaf as a write-in candidate for the NFL's "100 Greatest Players of All Time" last year.

I'm stunned that Bill Parcells did not make it in. Stunned. We can stop with the "Tom Coughlin for Hall of Fame" talk right now because until Bill Parcells goes in there's no point in talking about any other coach as a HOF candidate except Bill Belichick.

The Patriots are in the Super Bowl after spending three years undoing Josh McDaniels' pass offense. How soon they get back depends in part on the degree to which he undoes the undoing. In this Insider piece, we use game charting data to chronicle the history of the former, and explore potential options regarding the latter.
