First of all, frick!

Secondly, how are dislocated toes a season-ending injury?

As I Jags fan, this headline scared me, then I clicked the link. And by the way... ouch.

You're telling me. I think I just had a heart attack.

Ronnie Lott would have demanded they just cut the damned things off.

Yeah... totally though it was John Henderson who was out.

Is that 2 dislocated toes like some super sick version of turf toe or something? Cause it don't sound like an IR injury.

It don't, don't it?

Damn, guys, have you ever tried to run full speed and do full-on stop and gos with two dislocated toes?

Are there any Vikings fans who can provide any information on who the backup is, and whether he is any good/bad/indifferent or any of the above depending on his responsibilities on any given play?

David Herron is the backup, and its quite the drop off, we're thin at LB.

God this season keeps getting worse.

And Childress's playbook still looks right out of Tecmo Bowl.

Vikings also have his younger brother Erin on roster even though it sounds like younger sister. Does he play same linebaxcker spot as EJ? Vikings have loads of problems team probably giigt 6-10 this year crappy all aorund the place

I completely agree with Kevin Seifert (http://myespn.go.com/blogs/nfcnorth/0-5-39/Vikings-simply-can-t-replace-...) that this is one of the worst personnel losses that would have been possible for the Vikings. Henderson was outstanding last year, and had a great season so far. This is a huge loss.

Hooray, Raiderjoe's back!

Back on the subject, that's a real shame- I really like the Vikings' D.

This is a major loss, but if we had a better back-up it would also be an opportunity.

E.J. has to be one of the most underrated run stoppers in the NFL, but our problems aren't running the ball. E.J. is an instinctive player, even in pass coverage, but the fact of the matter is he's slow. In our system, he basically only runs straight back (Tampa 2 MLB) or straight forward (A-gap blitzes). He's not particularly good at either of those things. If we had a better cover and/or pass-rushing Mike 'backer we might actually not be worse for losing E.J.

That said, I will miss thinking about ball-carriers breathing a slight sigh of relief, knowing they're outside the Williams Wall, only to get flattened by E.J.

Finally, for those of you that don't think that's an IR injury, you guys probably sit through commercials because your remote thumb is sore. Let's not question the toughness of a guy who brings professional athletes to the ground for a living.
